About the Author

Harmen Koffeman became interested in drag reduction while taking training in gliders in 1969, and, later on, in power planes. He started collecting information on airplane drag from books and magazine, and sources like NACA Reports, building up an extensive library on the subject in English, German, and Dutch.

While in 1990 Harmen decided to write a book about parasite drag, in 1995 he decided to concentrate on the cost of parasite drag, especially for business and professional pilots who fly their own airplanes for one hundred or more hours per year. His aim is to make clear how much their airplane's parasite drag is costing you, hour after pleasant hour, in money paid at the pump.
